Choi Sung Bong was in the news for the controversy related to his health. He claimed that he was battling cancer but it was later revealed that he had lied about being terminally ill. According to media reports, Choi Sung Bong posted a message on his YouTube channel before his death, making it appear that he committed suicide. The police is probing his death.

Choi Sung Bong faced a lot of hardships in his life. Due to non-payment of fees, he had to leave the music school. He earned his living by doing wages. Choi Sung Bong rose to fame in 2011 after participating in the tvN audition program ‘Korea’s Got Talent’.
