Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is receiving surgical treatment at Lilavati Hospital after an attempted burglary at his Mumbai home on January 16. Reports state that an intruder broke into his Bandra West apartment at midnight. During a confrontation with the thief, Saif sustained six stab wounds, including two deep injuries, one dangerously close to his spine.
Saif's team released a statement confirming the incident and urged fans and media to remain patient as the police investigation continues. The statement mentioned that there had been an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan’s residence and that he was currently in the hospital undergoing surgery. It requested the media and fans to remain patient, emphasizing that the matter was under police investigation and updates would be provided in due course.
Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, revealed details of the injuries, stating that Saif was attacked with sharp objects. A foreign body near his spine has been identified, and the full extent of the injuries will be clear after surgery. A team of specialists, including neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange and plastic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, is attending to Saif.
The case is currently under investigation by the Mumbai Police and the Crime Branch. A senior police officer mentioned that it is unclear whether Saif was stabbed or injured during the scuffle. The incident occurred at the Satguru Sharan building, where Saif resides with his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and their children, Taimur and Jeh.
